These round, yellow loaves have gone over very well every time I have prepared them! Serve with butter... And better make a double (or more) batch.. They go fast, especially if there are Gorean men about!

". . .he gave me two generous pieces of bread, two full wedges of Sa-Tarna, a fourth of a loaf. Such bread is usually baked in round, flat loaves, with eight divisions in a loaf. Some smaller loaves are divided into four divisions."

Khaos' Sa-Tarna Bread
(Cornbread)

Ingredients:
2 cups yellow cornmeal
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
3 eggs
around 1 quart buttermilk
about ¼ bacon grease

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Blend dry ingredients in a large mixing pitcher/bowl.
Mix in eggs.
Mix in enough buttermilk to make a thin batter. (like good pancake batter for light & fluffy pancakes)
Do not over mix!
Set batter aside.
Heat bacon grease in a large cast iron skillet until all melted and hot.
Pour about ½ into the batter and stir in.
Tilt the pan around so that bottom and sides are well coated with grease.
Pour batter into pan and bake for 20-30 minutes (until golden brown and toothpick comes out mostly clean).
